no rest for the wicked

with only days left before the fabulous and glamorous wt international film festival where gerilja film are guests of honour (obviously), we set to it again, recording a music video for singer/songwriter merethe soltvedt. merethe is one of the shooting stars in the norwegian music scene at the moment, and we're happy to help her further on the way with this video.
the film will be directed by tom, and will feature super-8 footage of merethe spanning her entire life as secondary footage. the primary footage will be shot by the eminent gerilja film crew on askøy on sunday, so stay tuned for a swift but efficient production. final cut is expected mid-november, so it won't take long before it's out there.

meanwhile, keep voting for "in luv with u", and watch out for "blackbird", which will hopefully be running on svisj in not too long a time from now. "pint of no return" and "something's goin' down" both have tentative deadlines in mid-to-late november, so those videos are to be expected soon as well.

in other news, we'll be showing some of our video showreel at the film festival next weekend, as well as our documentary about famed local artist arne mæland and his internationally renown sculpture symposium here in os, which attracts famous sculptors from all over the world. especially of the latter should it be well worth catching a screening!

On the air:-)

Today, we had our second video on television. In the show svisj:urort on nrk, shoot the dog's video "in luv with u" was shown three times. Yeah! The first video we had on tv was Natalie Nordnes's "The Hours", but that one we only helped producing. This one we made all by our selves. Thank you to all who voted for the video!!

Naturally, it's the first of many. We expect to have Woodgrain's "Blackbird" and The Foggy Few's "Pint of no Return" out there soon as well.

Shoot the dog, in concert...

Wednesday evening Shoot the Dog played Kvarteret. A crowd of about 60-70 people had come to see and hear the dog bark. The concert was ok overall. They started out kind of uninspired, but that changed after a few songs and the encore was greate.
I had never heard them live before and was a bit surprised by their stage show and the diversity of their sett. Idun, the lead singer, carries most of the show on her shoulders and she does a great job at it. She is abit Bjørk and abit Gunnhild from Gåte, but most of all it seems that she is her self. She lets go. That can't be said for all members of the band, but I guess that will change given time and experience...
The music is a mixture of several genres, I would say Jazzfunk, rock and pop. It is quite expressive and visual in a way. Severel times they said, "this song is a bit scary", and we knew what they ment when the song was played. It's also groovebased, and the drummer/keyboardplayer and guitarist served a rock steady and tight background for the vocals. Yes, anyway, the song "in luv with u" (that we made a musicvideo for) stands out as the only pop song in their set. If that's a good thing you ask? Well, I do not know, but the song is cool! Over the top sweet and neat...a bit ironic?
You can soon give the video your vote on svisj, so stay tuned for more information.
